Barbara E. Hernandez is a veteran real estate journalist who sold her Palm Springs-area home in early 2007 at a $150,000 profit and in 2009, bought a foreclosure in the Bay Area. Her passion for real estate is real, tangible and often gets her in trouble. Her view of the real estate market is real, clear and unbiased, which also gets her in trouble with agents, brokers and even her former editors. Although laid off from her daily newspaper job in 2008, she still manages to pay the bills.
